All parties pin their hopes on amicable agreement to be reached
The trade union UASA has lowered its demand for salary increases from 13% tot 10% in its wage negotiations with the Metal & Engineering sector. The participating employer organizations upped their offer from 6% to 7%, except NEASA who upped theirs to 7,5%.
UASA has already obtained the necessary certificate for a protected strike, subject to a mandate by members following a voting process which is expected to be finalized by Friday (01 July 2011).
The upcoming Services Seta wage negotiations are scheduled to commence on 29 June, and the Hulamin wage negotiations will commence on 30 June.
