Sean Drabble takes over from Henry van Rooyen with effect from 1 September 2018.
We are sad to announce that one of our stalwarts, Henry van Rooyen, had to leave UASA due to permanent ill health. Henry has been suffering from some serious health issues for a couple of years which eventually culminated in him being boarded with effect from 1 September 2018.
Henry completed 24 years of dedicated and loyal service with the union. When UASA and NETU amalgamated in 2003, Henry became an Operational Manager in Gauteng and he later moved to KZN. Henry represented UASA members on the MEIBC, the Merseta, the Services Seta, as well as serving as a Trustee on MIBFA.
Despite all his medical challenges, Henry says that he will remain positive and he will tackle things as they come. We wish him and his good wife Daggie and their children everything of the best and we pray that his health will improve. We thank him for his diligence and dedication in the interest of the members through all the years.
Henry van Rooyen
As Henry leaves UASA, Sean Drabble takes over from him.
Similar to Henry, Sean was also part of NETU during the amalgamation in 2003. He was appointed as Operational Manager at the time but resigned in January 2007 to take up the position of designated agent of the MEIBC.
Sean certainly has all the skills, the knowledge and the attitude to always act in the best interest of UASA members, hence our members can rest assured that there will be a seamless transfer of all duties and responsibilities.
Welcome back and good luck Sean. We are glad to have you back as part of the team once again.
