Ramaphosa meets promises by opening Gamsberg Mine

Pres. Cyril Ramaphosa today opened the Gamsberg mine near Aggeneys in the Northern Cape. He was accompanied by Minister of Minerals Gwede Mantashe and Vendata Limited International CEO, Ms Deshnee Naidoo.

UASA is pleased that the president is meeting promises made last year during his investment drive and we hope to see more projects like these that will greatly assist in reducing unemployment and boosting our economy, come to life.

The project is set to become one of the largest mining projects in South Africa with an investment of over R21b from Vendata that was pledged at the inaugural Investment Summit held last year. The 800-850 people that will be employed at the Gamsberg Mine will give the local business sector and the community in general a much-needed boost.
