E-tolling saga makes mockery of so-called consultation process

The e-tolling saga is yet another example of the ANC government making a mockery of so-called consultation processes on important issues.

The fact that an important organisation like BUSA was not granted the opportunity to present its views at a public hearing, apparently due to the short notice and urgency with which the ANC is conducting the process to implement the e-tolls, again shows that the ruling party simply forges ahead to reach its goals while the so-called public consultation processes seem nothing more than a  waste of taxpayers’ money and time.

Members of the public are treated like fools while public hearings are utilised for the sole purpose of being able to state that government did consult when confronted.

The public is slowly but surely reaching a point of fed-up restlessness of which government had better take heed.
