Government’s idea of implementing a higher tax for graduates is simply proof that it will stop at nothing to lay its hands on more hard-earned money of South Africa’s workers, with very little to show in return.
At a time when we are struggling to get our economy going and with education as one our biggest challenges, the ruling party finds it a good idea to consider implementing this tax.
A graduate makes a decision at some time in his life to make sacrifices in terms of time and effort to equip him/herself at great personal financial expense to play a meaningful role in the economy. Considering the implementation of a tax on these individuals is ridiculous.
It will bring more harm to the economy, causing graduates to leave South Africa for countries where their skills and contributions to society and the economy are appreciated.
