Fuel price increase will again leave consumers in financial distress

The fuel price increase, effective as from midnight, will hit South Africans right into their cash-strapped pockets, forcing them into ever-tighter financial survival strategies.

Most workers have been in the throes of financial hardship for years, and this price hike will do nothing to give them hope for the future.

Again, the higher price will be passed on to consumers, many of whom already live below the breadline but need public transport to reach shops to buy necessities. Those who depend on paraffin for household use will also feel the extra expense.

Once again, UASA encourages its members and all South Africans to keep tight household budgets and be money wise.
