One injury or death is one too many

UASA has learnt with sadness of an incident that took place yesterday, 30 May 2019, at one of the Harmony mines in the Free State which has resulted in the passing of one of our members.

UASA extends its condolences to his family and friends, our thoughts and prayers are with them in this very difficult time.

UASA will take part in the section 11.5 investigation as required by the Mines Health and Safety Act 29 of 1996 to find out what happened, how it happened and how best we can ensure it does not happen again in the future.

We are committed to mine safety and one injury or death at a mine is one too many.
