Rand Water is party to the Amanzi Bargaining Council but refused to accept that the council’s constitution supersedes the Rand Water CBF Constitution. Rand Water’s CBF Constitution required a higher threshold (number of members needed to be recognized) than that of the Amanzi Bargaining Council and during last year, UASA has been given notice by Rand Water that we don’t comply with the required Rand Water threshold.

Yesterday, 19 January 2017 at Amanzi Bargaining Council, it has been agreed that wage negotiations will start on 13 March 2017. That means that we have to submit our wage demands through to the council before 10 March 2017. Prior to then, we will engage with our members to obtain a mandate and prepare for wage negotiations. We will keep you posted.
