Rand Water Wage Negotiations Continue

Rand Water management’s final offer is 8,5% for this year and 8% for next year and UASA has indicated that we are willing to accept the offer because we have reached our mandate but SAMWU rejected the offer and declared a dispute and they demand 9%.

Over and above the wage increase there are various other allied demands such as firefighting allowance, first aid, overtime, tool allowance, housing and meal allowance, Then there are deferred allied demands such as annual leave, tenure system, post-retirement medical aid, retirement age, contracts, sport leave & salary discrepancies.

In accordance with Rand Water Central Bargaining Forum (CBF) agreement a dispute resolution must be held within 10 working days and although UASA indicated that we have accepted the offer we will be part of the process because of the rules of the agreement.
